Established in 1994, Australasian Association of Parenting and Child Health (AAPCH) is a national organisation and peak body of key agencies in Australia & New Zealand providing early parenting services using both centre based residential and community outreach models of care and support.
Our Purpose
To inspire, guide and amplify our members ability to make life changing positive impacts for young families.
Our Vision
We will be highly sought after for our shared know how and collective voice.
Together, member agencies provide support to an estimated 300,000 + Australian & New Zealand families each year.
Although there is some variation of how services are provided across member agencies, all:
• are unique services that are family-centred
• are committed to the delivery of improved health, wellbeing and social outcomes for children and families
• focused on supporting families with complex needs and families experiencing vulnerability
• deliver strength-based services
• have a strong child health emphasis
• apply an ecological approach that recognises the interconnected influences on child and family wellbeing
• provide support at the secondary and tertiary levels of care
• are multidisciplinary and team-based, drawing on expertise from nursing, social work, medicine, psychology and other disciplines
• work with socially and culturally diverse communities and individuals
• are committed to evidence-informed practice and contributing to the evidence base for early parenting services
• undertake research and evaluation to advance knowledge and improve outcomes in early parenting and child health
• collaborate to share expertise, strengthen services and improve outcomes for children and families
